Before the Dutch government can create protected conservation sites in the North Sea, a whole raft of tasks have to be completed.

Ontwerp-besluiten Noordzeekustzone en Vlakte van de RaanDe minister van LNV heeft op 13 april 2010 twee ontwerp-besluiten genomen over Natura 2000-gebieden, die zijn gelegen in de Noordzee. Deze betreffen een ontwerp-wijzigingsbesluit over de Noordzeekustzone en een ontwerp-aanwijzingsbesluit over de Vlakte van de Raan. In deze ontwerp-besluiten zijn de instandhoudingsdoelen voor beide gebieden opgenomen. |

The North Sea Natura 2000 project is being managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, the World Wildlife Fund, the North Sea Foundation, Imares and the Dutch Fish Product Board.
